Armstrong Ceilings goes full circle …

Armstrong has enhanced its portfolio of island systems, with the launch of curved and circular versions of its popular Axiom Classic range.

Specified either at initial design stage or as a quick-fix refurbishment solution. Ideal for acoustically-challenged or exposed structure spaces.

The new, easily relocatable modular system comprises an aluminium grid with a choice of standard kit options.

Armstrong Ceilings debuts energy-saving ‘CoolZone’ system at Ecobuild, stand N1120, 20th – 22nd of March 2012


Eco-friendly systems that help to reduce a building’s energy costs at the same time as they maximise occupier comfort will debut with Armstrong Ceilings at Ecobuild 2012.

CoolZone tiles, which feature Phase Change Material (PCM) that absorbs heat to delay the requirement for air conditioning, will showcase on Armstrong Ceilings’ stand (N1120) that will itself help to demonstrate how the system works.

The results of a trial currently underway in the [overheating] meeting room of an office in London are also due to be revealed at the show.

Armstrong Ceilings win a
‘Gold’ Green Apple Award
for Environmental Best Practice
 
Armstrong competed against more than 500 other nominations and received the award under the title of 'Recycling Ceilings' in the Building and Construction Products category.
The Green Apple Awards began in 1994 and have become established as the country’s major recognition for environmental endeavour among companies, councils, communities and countries.
 
The judges commented, “Globally, the company has recycled more than eight million square metres of ceiling tiles. By my reckoning that’s about the same area as 1,000 Wembley football pitches, and that equates to saving 40,000 tonnes of construction waste, or 18 million kilograms less greenhouse gas emissions – the same as driving 149 million miles in a car”.
 
“To then go further and become International Green Heroes is an even bolder statement of environmental intent, and organisations that go the extra mile and become International Green Heroes are demonstrating a serious commitment to the world around them. They invest in a better future for us all and deserve to be recognised for their efforts.”
 
Armstrong will also be considered to represent their country in the European Business Awards for the Environment
